The Briercrest Heritage Day

The community of Briercrest came together this year to plan and organize the Briercrest Heritage Day and made it a huge success!

Many hands from several organizations in the community made the load lighter for all and enabled us to have the best Heritage Day ever!

Activities included:
  • Show ‘n’ Shine vintage vehicle display
  • A slo-pitch tournament
  • Beer gardens
  • Children's activities including bouncy castles
  • Old Tyme music, museum tours, dry camping
  • Cowboy poetry, olden day crafts and demonstrations
  • First Nations Dancers

There were antique T-Birds - a 1966 convertible with a 390 CU engine and a 1956 with a soft top.

 

This 1967 T-Bird owned by Lannie Erickson and a 1967 Mercury Convertible owned by Jack Gadd.

 
A 1950 Meteor .................. and a 1987 Corvette

 
There were vintage trucks..................... and antique tractors.

 
There were pie and ice cream for sale and a concession stand.  And music by the Dusty Old Farmers.

There were bouncy castles for the kids ..............and a slo-pitch baseball tournament.

 
A 1915 Waterloo Contract Engine sold by T. Eaton Company. This motor was located at the Fisher Farm located 4 miles south of Briercrest. It was used in a grain elevator which was used to unload and load grain to 5 grain bins.    Video

 
The First Nations Dancers. The dancing began with a Circle Dance with members of the audience taking Part. Wayne Fisher from Moose Jaw danced the traditional warrior dance. The female dancer was a young lady named Emili.   Video.
